Edem, Rocked Alma Mater on African Union Day

Africa’s first absolut artiste of the year Edem, known in real life as Agbeviade Anthony, rocked his alma mater, Bishop Herman College on African Union day as part of activities to raise funds for the infrastructural development of the school.

On his arrival he was welcomed by a large crowd of students, old boys and the general public amidst cheers. In an interview with Edem, he posited that his homecoming was as a result of a collaborative effort between his year group (BHOBU 2003), BHOBU national executives, Bishop Herman College 60th anniversary planning committee, Volta regime music group and Volta regime foundation to organise a concert in order to raise funds to aid the infrastructural development of his alma mater.

He also intimated that the show forms parts of his little way of contributing his quota towards the infrastructural development of his alma mater, which however served as the launch pad of his talent some years ago.

Edem further inferred that, he also wanted to use the opportunity to educate the students as well as the youth in general on the essence of taking their academics seriously, no matter what talent they posses, using himself as an epitome. Since irrespective of the numerous successes he has chalked in the musical scene both locally and internationally, he is still pursuing his studies.

The large complex hall of the college, which served as the venue for the concert was filled to capacity, as a large crowd of people made up of students, old boys as well as the general public stormed the place.

The concert which received a mammoth attendance saw Edem live performing some of his current hit tracks such as ‘’Over again’’, ‘’Ghetto Arise’’ among others amidst cheers from his fans. Edem’s super energetic and splendid stage performance left the crowd screaming for more.

No wonder he has been described as the contemporal best artiste in Ghana by Hammer of the last 2.

This gargantuan and unprecedented show in the history of the College would continue to linger in the memory of the many who were present at the concert.
