About 80 ladies turned up for the Ghana auditions of the Africa’s Next Top Model reality television show on Saturday.

Held at the M Plaza Hotel in Accra, the hopefuls thronged the event venue with the sole purpose of making the final cut, and a chance to represent Ghana in the maiden edition, airing soon on free-to-air and pay-per-view television.

Headed by Supermodel Oluchi, the ANTM team will in the coming days announce who among the lot has made it. Recording takes off in South Africa from August.

“We chose South Africa to host the competition because considering the African continent, South Africa is about the only country with a well-structured fashion industry and very busy one because almost every province holds its own Fashion Week”, Oluchi says on why South Africa was chosen to host the reality show.

Africa’s Next Top Model is the African extension of the very popular of America’s Next Top Model franchise owned by Tyra Banks.
