Nigerian music star, Deborah Oluwaseyi Joshua, known popularly in showbiz as Seyi Shay has said Africa’s source of strength is in music.

The Nigerian-based singer and songwriter suggested that if musicians from Africa should team up through music, it will make Africa strong and united on all fronts to the rest of the world at large.

The female artiste who also doubles as an actress in an interview on Gh One TV also made mention of how good it is for music artistes all over the world to come together and share their very different talents to create something beautiful for the world.

“That’s what it’s about you know; Teaming up with other African artistes, reigning strong, waxing strong together so that the rest of the world outside will see that we are a united continent,” Seyi said.

Buttressing the point of the significance of music to Africa by Africans especially by the course of collaborations, Seyi Shay added; “I think one of the strongest things Africa has is the music and the culture”.

Practising what she preaches, however, the Nigerian superstar proved that she is more than okay reaching out of her comfort zone and has formed what seems to be a strong musical alliance with a couple of artistes from Ghana.

Although she has already worked with the likes of Edem, Sarkodie and Samini, she has hinted on future features with other top Ghanaian musical acts; “I have one with Stonebwoy which is not out yet. I have one with King Promise, that video is coming next actually. We shot the video already and its ‘dhope’ and Efya too.”

Speaking on her new song and video ‘Koma Roll’, she indicated that most African Musicians are dedicated and very willing to work hard once approached.

“After ‘Give me love’ I dropped ‘Koma Roll’ featuring Harmonize from Tanzania. He is a big artiste and has an amazing voice. I’m so glad that he blessed this song. He just dropped his own project so he was really busy but he still took time out to come and shoot the video and do everything.”

The Afropop, R&B and Reggae singer has herself worked with a couple of artistes such as Olamide, Adenkule Gold, Flavour, Dj Consequence, Dr Sid, Kizz Daniel, and Niniola amongst others from her Nigerian circles.
