Sunday September 2nd 2007 will be a very busy and also an important day for
the African people in Connecticut. It is the celebration of the beauty of
African culture.
The most talked about and awaited pageant is finally here in Connecticut
this Sunday. The population of African immigrants has increased in number
for the past few years. Some have risen third to fourth generations whilst
new comers also arrive every day.
For all these years, there hasn't been any one event that has been able to
reach out to all Africans and also give Africans a lot of attention in the
State like this one has. This will be the biggest African event in years in
the State of Connecticut.
The theme of Pageant is *uniting All People of African Heritage for a Better
Africa.* Unlike all beauty pageants this pageant is also a charity event.
The pageant also has a recognition award section that will be giving to a
young African from the community who has attained success in a particular
field.
After thorough selection at a pre-pageant, eight finalists have been chosen
to participate at the main event on Sunday September 2nd 2007. All the girls
possess culture, glamour, professionalism, intelligence and high level of
education that this event requires. They will be judged on Traditional wear,
Evening Wear, swimsuit, talent and Q/A.
Mr. Kwadjo Osei-Wusu (Don Cuzy)( a young entrepreneur, community activist
and aspiring fashion mogul) founder and president of Don Juan Inc., the
company organizing this event assures us that this event will definitely
change the perception of others about Africans in the world.
He also invites everyone who supports African Culture and also interested to
see a new Africa, to come to *50 Chapman Place East Hartford Ct.,* on *Sunday
September 2nd 2007 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm for this event.*
