This was how the conversation began with this reporter and the new gospel artiste Stephen Kyei Antwi, a graduate from Cape Coast University.
The young man and a talented gospel musician declared that mysteriously, he picked up at age 8 playing the keyboard, guitar, drum and other instrument he never learnt.
Whiles on campus, he was a base guitarist from 2000 to 2005 for the mass choir. Taking him a period of seven years to work on this album, he mentioned that he has always loved to minister the power of God through music, to among other things encourage the down hearted in life.
Being also the second child of four children by his parents, he says that despite his educational level, his main ambition in life is to be a minister of God.
This is his maiden album with the title “Nyame ye” literary meaning God is good, and contains 8 tracks and that he calls a dream coming true 20 years back. He explained the title of the song and that tells a lot about his challenging youthful life which God saw him through.
The album has eight tracks and would be launched on the 2nd September this year at Odorkor Barracks Police Church near Accra Academy at 3:30pm. He mentioned that popular singers namely Oware Junior and Noble Nketsia are his admirers in the Gospel music industry.
Listeners of his songs would not shun the fact that this artiste is adding a new flavor to the gospel scene and giving the ability to pray and praise God for directions.
He acknowledges and dedicates the album to his parents I. K. Antwi and Madam Mary O. Osae and also his best friend Rebecca Owusu in the UK for being with him through trials and challenging times.
