Retired civil servant and veteran actor Fred Nii Yatey Amugi has disclosed that for whatever reason movie producers dried up offers for years but are now seeking his services once again.

Speaking as guest on star chart hosted by Anita Erskine, the ‘Beasts of No Nation’ star noted that at the height of the boom years of ‘Kumawood’, life was good as he played many roles and got offers consistently then out of the blue the offers dried up but “since quality is timeless and what goes around comes around, I am being sought after especially in foreign productions.” the grey elder observed.

According to Mr. Amugi as a civil servant, he retired in 2008 having risen to the rank of Director of Supplies in the Ministry of Finance adding that he is not into mass consumption hence has no presence on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram although he’s managed to be on WhatsApp.

He explained he loves the good old days and ways as he insists on scripts being delivered in hard copy adding that he loves to read and therefore, prefers not to be distracted with social media so as to comprehend the scripts which come his way for sweet delivery.

‘The Cursed Ones’ actor mentioned Adjetey Anang as his favourite Ghanaian actor promising that more of his works shall be screened in 2016 so fans can enjoy.

For one who set out as a gospel singer in a band, Mr. Amugi sure has handled acting pretty well.

His works include Beasts of No Nation, The Destiny of Lesser Animals, The Cursed Ones, Chronicles of Odumkrom The Headmaster, Pieces of Me, Punctured Hope, In the Eyes of My Husband, M.P. (Madam Pink), Holby City (TV Series), Tuesday’s Child, Welcome Home, The Other Side of the Rich, Filming Africa (Documentary).
