The Agona Swedru 2019 Akwambo Festival will see a facelift this year as the Afahye Planning Committee have received a donation from mobile telecommunications giants MTN.
The donation includes Ghc 5,000 cheque, airtime worth GHC 500.00, drinks hampers worth over GHC1000.00
In addition , MTN will support the organization of a Masquerade Carnival, a MoMo fair and a community football gala. Also, MTN will provide canopies to support the organization of the durbar of chiefs.
Presenting the items to the Afahye Planning Committee on behalf of MTN, Senior Manager for MTN South West bussiness district, Mr. Prince Owusu Nyarko retreated MTN's commitment to support festivals in Ghana to project a lot about the African society which is considered as an integral part of the African culture. " We identify with this heritage and in view of this, we come in each year to support with cash and kind donation to make the festival memorable for the indigenes and revellers" he stated.
He added that, this year has been declared, the year of return by the Government and as such, some activities have been organized to include our traditional festivals. "As a good corporate citizen with its roots from Africa, we find it prudent to support the activities that will make the year of Return a memorable one".
He reminded them to take advantage of the MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) at 10 celebrations, marking 10 years of its existence to win exciting prices.
"One of these is the promotion currently ongoing and we are giving out 10 cars. Don’t be left out. Five cars have already been given and 5 more left to be given. All you need to do, is do more MoMo transactions to build points and win", he hinted.
