Ace Actor and musician, Kofi Adu, popularly called Agya Koo, stole the show at the maiden mega music concert organised by the Ashanti Regional Police Command and Regional Police Band last Friday.
Agya Koo put up an impressive display as he sang melodious tunes which sent the charged crowd going crazy during the programme which was dubbed ‘A Night with the Regional Commander’.
The multi-talented actor and musician’s display forced several people to rush to the podium where they danced like nobody’s business right in the presence of Bantamahene, Baffuor Asare Owusu Amankwatia V.
The event which attracted seasoned musicians in the country was also witnessed by DCOP Kofi Boakye, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, Dr Samuel Sarpong, the Ashanti Regional Minister and top businessmen.
Among the top musicians who also performed at the show included Supt Kofi Sarpong, Nana Tuffuor, Kofi Abraham, Rev Yabs, Augustine Addison, Mama Sylvia, among other musicians.
The historic show was used to officially launch the Ashanti Regional Police Band and also solicit for funds to help construct a music theatre for the police band at the Police Training School at Patase.
DCOP Kofi Boakye, in his succinct remarks, said the police band usually serves to foster unity between the police and the public, commending the seasoned musicians that attended the show to perform.
He used the occasion to assure the public about the desire of the police to continually maintain law and order in the area, stressing that the police would arrest any law breaker whether the person is rich, poor or whatever.
