Ghanaian “Comedy Queen” Afia Schwarzenegger is displeased with Deputy Minister of Trade, Mr. Robert Ahomka-Lindsay over his comments suggesting Ghanaians, especially those in the diaspora like whining.
According to the radio personality in an Instagram video, since Mr. Ahomka-Lindsay did not struggle to attain his current political status, he is at liberty to say whatever pleases him about Ghanaians.
She said, the Deputy Minister is an “opportunist” who happens to be overly enjoying the fruit of others’ labour.
“Did you say Ghanaians like whining? It’s not your fault. When Sammy Awuku, Chairman Wontumi and others were struggling for power, we didn’t see you but you’re enjoying the fruits… eeeiii Ahomka!” she noted.
Mr. Ahomka-Lindsay, is reported to have asked diasporans at Diaspora Homecoming Summit at the Accra International Conference Centre, to stop complaining about everything government does.
He is quoted saying, “Nobody likes whiners, people that spend all the time whining really get on people’s nerves. So, stop whining; stop saying this doesn’t work, that doesn’t work; please, we know it doesn’t work so stop whining all the time saying it doesn’t work. If it worked, you probably won’t be sitting there.”
The minister has been largely criticized by the public with some describing him as an arrogant person.
He has, however apologised and asked Ghanaians not to be offended by his comments.
