When asked why they are recording a gospel album, they said “we want to thank and praise God and also use this album to tell people that God helps those who help themselves.
They joined the hiplife scene with their first album titled ‘Ghana Mmaa’ with hit songs like 'Odo Esisime'; followed it up with ‘Kente’ with songs like ‘Ohemaa’ and the third one was ‘Odo Osikyere’ with ‘Mi Gboo’ as the lead song.
They now have their latest titled ‘Yedi Aba’, which has songs like ‘Sinsi Ma’ and ‘Aware Pa’. The ‘Aware Pa’ track is the favourite among listeners. With ‘Sinsi Ma’, they have proven their ability to create good songs, which has earned them recognition as one of best singing hiplife groups. The creation of Akatakyie was after the two brothers realized that they can’t make it big until they join forces.
With Akatakyie, they don’t do hiplife but do ‘Rhythm Afric’ but their fans have painted them as hiplife artistes. ‘Rhythm Afric’ deals with a lot of singing in the African way. Ace sound engineer Zapp Mallet and Don Dee were the sound engineers who blessed the album.
