One of Ghana’s sensational artists in the urban/contemporary gospel fold is Akesse Brempong and he cements that portfolio with the release of quality music over the years and his following has grown steadily over the period.
He leads a legion of gospel artists who are doing to best to alter the misconception of Ghanaian gospel artists not putting in their best when it comes to music videos and he proves it with the release of his new video, ‘God is Working’.
His song “God is Working” speaks about the ability of God to change the situation of people. Phil Evans Akesse- Brempong is a gospel musician, song writer, worship leader and a music director. On Sunday 18TH June, 2017, Akesse launched his “GOD is Working” music Video directed by Benn Koppoe.
For the past decade, Akesse has helped to redefine the Gospel industry in Ghana. He has directed several music groups which include King’s Praise of PENSA-KNUST and Heavenly jewels of Pentecost Worship Center (PIWC), Kumasi.
According to Akesse, he is a soldier of the cross and a truck headed for God’s where-house. In March, 2014, Akesse Brempong was named among the reputable Gospel Innovation- USA’s top 20 gospel artistes in the world. He was placed at number 10 among gospel giants like Donnie McLurkin, William McDowell and Jamie Grace. In 2015, Akesse got nominated for the Bass awards, Gospel reggae song of the year.
The song ‘God is Working’ has won ‘CCMA Gospel Reggae Song of the Year 2016’ and has been a household song which gives hope to the hopeless.
