For Last-Minute Vote Buying

“Queen of the Streets”, Ursula Owusu, is rich by a whopping 6 billion (old Ghana Cedis) as she struggles for the Ablekuma West Seat.

Having been initially in the lead, Ursula’s support base is haemorrhaging seriously as a result of her bitchy, arrogant, abusive and disrespectful attitude.

Realising that Ursula is likely to lose the seat to National Democratic Congress’s (NDC’s), younger, pretty and more cultured Victria Hammah, Nana Akufo-Addo, is reported to have doled out a 6 billion cedis to Ursula Owusu, to help his lover win the seat “At All Cost”.

The money, which was made available to Ursula on Saturday, December 01, 2012, at around 13.30 Hrs GMT is to help her buy back her dwindling support base. “She came crying to Nana that she needs the money to buy back her supporters, who have defected”; The Informer’s source said. “She also said that some of the money will be used to bribe some EC officials to help her”; the source added.

According to the source, Akufo-Addo had no option but to fork out the money for Ursula because of the hysteria with which Ursula broached the subject. It is no secret that Ursula is hitting a dead-end with her campaign, even though the newly-created Ablekuma West Constituency is seen to have a strong NPP support base.

Ursula was hoping to use her appearance on TV and Radio programmes to coast to a comfortable victory. However, the “Queen of the streets” and long-time lover of Nana Akufo-Addo, is finding things very tough.

Indeed, about 3 weeks ago, NDC Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Mr. Joseph Ade Coker, announced publicly that over 150 NPP supporters had defected to the NDC because they could no longer stand the bitchy and insulting attitude of Ursula Owusu. Subsequent to Ade Coker’s interview, The Informer hit the ground, and from the information gathered, there is a lot of apathy amongst NPP supporters. Some of the NPP supporters The Informer spoke to, did not hide the fact that they cannot stand the manner in which Ursula has been boasting about her sexual relationship with Akufo-Addo and letting everybody know that she will be the de facto First Lady, in the unlikely event that Akufo-Addo wins the presidential election.

Indeed, some of them have confessed that they are not prepared to have an MP who openly boasts of her sexual relationship with a married man.

“Theresa Tagoe was not the best of MPs; but at least, she kept her sexual relationship secret. As for Ursula, she openly boasts about her closeness to Akufo-Addo, and that is very disturbing for me”, a market woman told this paper. “I am a married woman who is suffering because another woman is sharing my husband with me, and so there is no way I will vote for Ursula. I know what Rebecca Akufo-Addo is going through”; a 55 year old woman told The Informer. Indeed, it is pretty obvious that most of the NPP supporters who have decided not to vote for Ursula are elderly women who cannot stand the guts of Akufo-Addo’s sex partner.

For a fact, lots of people close to Akufo-Addo are really angry at the huge money that their boss has given to Ursula alone.

“He cannot give us what we want in spite of all dirty work we are doing yet he has given Ursula 6 billion cedis to do her last-minute campaign”; an Akufo-Addo aide has intimated.

“I must be frank; if Akufo-Addo and Ursula lay hands on power, we are dead in this country”; the aide added.
