Contemporary highlife musician, Akwaboah in a recent interview has pleaded with Flex newspaper that his fans should have patience with him as they keep asking when he will be releasing songs for them.

He has explained that, he wants to give them the best so they should expect the best from him so soon. Again he has revealed to Flex newspaper that, he does not understand why Ghanaians didn’t accept Okyeame Kwame’s Anaa song which was released some years back. The Nsroma singer believes the song was a good one and due to that will do a remix of it because he is in love with it.

“Maybe Ghanaians couldn’t accept it because they didn’t understand it. I feel the song didn’t get the right exposure or something, so I want to do my version of it because I love it and do understand that song maybe because I’m a song writer,” he said.

Meanwhile on VGMA’s and its controversies, Akwaboah has filed for Male Vocalist in this year’s VGMA’s and hopes to take away that title.

He continued that, everyone has the right to speak their minds on the VGMA’s. “It is what they feel and think about the scheme. I don’t have anything to say about it but I believe if one isn’t satisfied about something, he comes out to say it. If the board will sit down and understand where they are coming from, I pray they listen to what they are saying and if probably this year or next year they work, they will be able to correct that. As it stands now, I am concentrating on my album and videos and how to make things work,” he said.

Akwaboah further said, the Ghanaian music industry is growing as compared to some years back. In the past, Ghanaian music wasn’t recognized and parents saw music as doom for their kids but now everyone understands what music is, there is live band and people are learning how to sing so basically the industry is growing bit by bit and will eventually get to its expected height.

As a songwriter and musician, Akwaboah is known for his works of bringing out good music and lyrics which according to him earn him a living. I know I have been accepted now as a songwriter and an artiste so even if am not performing for people, I write songs for so many people and make money from it so without shows I am still living well by God’s grace and it’s been good,” he stated.

The musician concluded by thanking his fans for having his back and promised to give them nothing but the best.
