Emerge Consultancy, in collaboration with Ghana International School (GIS) presents a futuristic Variety Charity Show themed “OUR INTERGALACTIC FUTURE”. The benefiting Charity, New Horizon School, is a day school geared to serve children and adults who are intellectually disabled. New Horizon Special School is a voluntary, non-profit making, non-racial, non-sectarian and charitable institution. This Charity Benefit will be open to the general public and ticket outlet will be announced in the media.
Over the past seven years the GIS variety show event has been organized by students themselves under the auspices of the school administration and has maintained its stand as one of the most prestigious shows.
This year Emerge Consultancy, has been appointed as the organizers of the event and says that this year’s event promises to be one of the most recognized events on the entertainment calendar in Ghana.
Emerge Consultancy CEO, Miss Michelle Attoh, believes that with the event being produced by agency, sponsors of the event will be afforded greater exposure and more extensive visibility. As part of its social responsibility Emerge Consultancy is hoping to give back to society by donating to a charitable organization like the New Horizon School.
This year’s event will be held on the 3rd of May 2008 at the National Theatre and will be in two main categories: an IMAGINATIVE ART EXHIBITION and an ENTERTAINING VARIETY SHOW.
The IMAGINATIVE ART EXHIBITION segment will see students expressing their visions of the future through works of art which will be on display at the event. Guests will be required to vote for their favorite work of art, and the votes will be tallied and the winning art work announced during the show.
The ENTERTAINING VARIETY SHOW segment will feature exciting performances from each participating school. In additional to GIS, some of the other participating schools include: Tema International School, St. Mary’s Secondary School, Accra Academy Secondary School, and Morning Star School. The rest include Faith Montessori School, Roman Ridge School, S.O.S, Lincoln Community School, , Akosombo International School, American International School, Achimota Secondary School, Presbyterian Boys Secondary School (Presec) and Galaxy International.
According to the event organizers, there will also be surprise performances from well-known musical artistes in the country and an appearance by Kwaku-T of Big Brother Africa II fame. The event intends to bring out the talents and creativity in the youth for development in the future and will provide entertainment to all those in attendance.
