All is set for the 7th PANAFEST, says Yankah

Accra, Feb. 10, GNA - Mr Kojo Yankah, Chairman of the Pan-African and Historical Theatre Festival (PANAFEST) Foundation, on Thursday said all was on course for a successful PANAFEST this year.

"A lot of work has been done to make sure that this year's programmes become a success as compared to that of last year's programme" he said

Briefing the press in Accra on preparations the PANAFEST Foundation was making towards the festival, Mr Yankah said local interest was being whipped up for those in the country to actively participate in the festival since experience has shown that locals have watched such events from the touchline. The Festival, which would begin from July 21 to August 1, this year, at Cape Coast, Elmina and Assin Manso is on the theme; "The Re-emergence of African Civilization"

This year's programme would be under the auspices of the African Union (AU) and Ghana. He said the festival was to enhance the ideals of Pan Africanism and the development of Africa. Mr Yankah said the organizers were in talks with three airlines to have discount on ticket for those coming from the Diaspora to the festival
