Award-winning Ghanaian movie director and producer, Jackson K Bentum has stated that aside Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, subsequent governments have neglected the film industry.

Director Jackson, who revealed this to Seacitygh.com, said that Dr. Nkrumah had the entertainment industry at heart and that his contributions to the industry were something great to write home about.

"Aside Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, none of the subsequent governments have paid much attention to the film industry. But what I know is the entertainment industry is one of the greatest income earners to a nation. When you go to the developed countries, their movies are sponsored by the government and some other individuals. What will help is we must have someone with in-depth knowledge about the industry to head the ministry in charge of Creative Arts. If fact, movies bring in more investors. Look at the Beast of No Nation and the benefits Ghana has derived."

Being one of the finest movie directors and producers in Ghana, Mr. Jackson K Bentum was crowned as the best director(comedy) in 2012 at the Kumawood Awards.
