The Senior Pastor of Grace Family International Church in Georgia, USA, Bishop George Creppy, says a key feature of a false prophet or preacher is one who focuses on making themselves the centre of attention.

According to him, Jesus Christ is the centre and purpose of Christianity; hence, it is the responsibility of the clergy to point their followers and Christians as a whole to Jesus.

“Every true and authentic preacher wants to point people to Jesus. Anybody who wants to point people to themselves is a false prophet, flat out. It is that simple. They are false prophets.

“A false prophet wants people to believe in them. They want people to believe in them to prove that they are somebody and to prove that they are powerful. However, every true man of God would want to point people to Jesus, that Jesus is Lord,” he said in an interview on Joy FM.

Bishop George Creppy noted that doctrinal errors and challenges with biblical teachings have become so dire that some preachers do not know Jesus Christ.

He explained, “Today, even preachers preaching the gospel do not know Jesus. That accounts for the reason why most preachers want people to focus on them.”
