All set for Edem’s corporate album launch tomorrow

Acclaimed musician Edem has intimated that all is set for the corporate launch of his latest album 'Books 'N' Rhymes tomorrow at Holiday Inn.

The man who says he has matured musically indicated that big shots in the corporate and media world will be in attendance including Anita Erskine, George Afful, TT Brothers, DKB, David Oscar, Raquel, Kaakie, Stonebuoy and MC for the night KOD.

Edem explained the 'Books 'N' Rhymes album is solid featuring 25 tracks, 11 beat makers and 15 guest artistes noting, unlike the The Volta Regime (2008) and Mass Production (2011) albums which he gave out largely to boost his popularity, the 'Books 'N' Rhymes album has to be paid for because of the amount of creative effort, guest artistes and quality on display noting that whereupon he slept in studios he has evolved to sitting in board meetings and brainstorming with business gurus.

He said the album would be an MP3 collection on a CD whiles 5 vinyl versions of the will be auctioned at the hour long launch disclosing he will offer a 15 minute performance himself.

Asked by host Giovanni Caleb, why plans of selling baseball caps hadn’t materialised Edem noted that the dollar-cedi games meant they had to hold on rolling the plan until the situation stabilized adding that he was not one to sell a baseball cap for 80.00 cedis when a fan earned 200 cedis.

The ‘Koene’ rapper stated that he met Hammer of the Last 2 in 2003 when times were difficult for him explaining Hammer’s work ethic is one of kind noting that it gets to a time when the man behind numerous hits in the country puts off everyone’s phone at critical periods of production so the team could not be derailed.

“Hammer knows when you are ready to face the world, it could be 6 months, a year, 10 years but when you are ready he unleashes you on the public” Edem observed.

Reminiscing on his tough days, Denning observed that in 2007 he was in the company of Hammer when a well-known entertainer told him in the face that he would amount to nothing stressing that such naysayers eliminated any option of quitting in his mind as he had to prove such vile people wrong.

The husband and father expressed joy at the way Koene remix ft Lil Shaker, Ice Prince and Casper is crossing boundaries and paving ways for him noting that when it comes to movies he would love to work with Shirley Frimpong-Manso and Leila Djansi because of the awesome movies they produce.

On his favourite gospel musician, the Volta strong man stated he had to give it to Esther Smith because only she could touch him in ways other gospel folks couldn’t.
