Kumawood actresses Tracey Boakye, Kani Gloria and the campaign video the two shot for president Mahama were the subject for discussion on most entertainment shows in Kumasi over the weekend.
The two released the campaign commercial for the ruling National Democratic Congress and its flag bearer, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama days ago after weeks of shooting and editing it.
The endorsement video which got many Ghanaians talking was one of the many issues that came up on July 30 for discussion on Luv FM’s Private Party, an entertainment review show on the Kumasi-based radio station.
One of the four panelists on last Saturday’s edition of the show hosted by Austin Woode, Amandzeba Phiiphi Smmyth who talked against the two actresses shooting a commercial for the ruling party has been attacked.
Amandzeba who shared his ordeal on social media network, Facebook revealed that three armed men attacked him on his way home after the show. According to him, they warned him not to comment on any entertainment related issue concerning Tracey Boakye and the NDC government.
“Good day fellows, are we leaving in a country where the citizenry can speak their minds with out any fear or favour???i am totally devastated to the extent that on last Saturday after the private party on luv fm,on my way home i was attacked by three armed men, who categorically to me to desist from speaking on issues bothering on the ruling national Democratic Congress (NDC) n Tracey, the lady who shot an own paid add for the NDC,these guys in question pointed a pistol on me that any time they hear me on radio or tv trying to speak abt the Ndc,they will take of my life. I have made an official police report on it n am daring them to come after me for speaking the truth. Am asking if its not true that we are going through, Dumsor, higher utility tarriffs, unemployment, businesses collapsing, collapse of the NHIS,amidst mass corruption, higher inflation rate,n insult all over our airwaves????,so why is it that if am preaching the truth some chicken bravados n tomfoolery’s with the ruling government will have to send thugs to come after me????.” Amandzeba Phiiphi Smmyth’s Facebook post read.
When Zionfelix.net contacted the entertainment critic to know more about the attack, Mr. Phiiphi Smmyth disclosed that he has reported the case to the Asokwa Police Station.
