Over the weekend, veteran highlife and afrobeats musician Amandzeba was involved in a serious car crash in Accra.

The accident happened after his Ford Explorer rammed into a parked white Nissan Ranger which then also hit a Toyota Camry on 355 Faanofa Street in Kokomlemle at about 5:20 pm, according to Joy FM.

The report said he was heading towards Caprice from the Kokomlemle traffic light when he lost his way and rammed into the Nissan.

His management, in a press statement to Pulse.com.gh on Monday, January 6, said he was 'forced to go to the hospital' after insisting that he wants to hit the studio to finish recording his album.

He thanked ‘his loving fans for the positive thoughts and prayers’, adding that the ‘almighty creator and the ancestors are smiling on us’.

The statement said: "The accident happened while we were on the way to the studio in caprice to work on Amanzeba's new album, which will be coming out this august.

“Amanzeba is so committed to his work. The ancestral messenger is so determined to get his new message out to his fans and the world at large, we had to force him to go to the hospital.

“He wanted to continue his mission to the recording studio. Nothing can keep Amanzeba down. To Jah be the glory.

“The almighty creator and the ancestors are smiling on us. Yes, in the words of the mad scientist, "the cosmos are smiling on us."
