Anita Erskine, one of Ghana’s most celebrated female broadcast personalities has joined the Accra-based Starr 103.5 FM.

An official announcement will be made this evening, officials say.

Erskine officially becomes the right hand lady on Starr Drive, which has been hosted all this while by Bola Ray. The move, station handlers say provides the biggest and juiciest pair yet on local radio.

‘Every boss needs a lady,’ appears to be the motivating tagline for a show that has done great since it went live late last year.

Yet urban radio’s biggest personality pair in the last few years, Erskine has a lot to offer at her new job. A distinguished personality with years of experience in radio, television, events and production, she’s seen it all. Her getting to co-host the show with Bola Ray, himself, an exceptionally gifted broadcast person, is what Starr Drive needs now.

For years, Bola Ray dominated the evening department of mainstream radio as host of JOY FM’s Drive Time, which he powered to win Radio Programme of the Year at last year’s CIMG Awards. He moved to co-own Starr, and seven months after, he won the Radio Personality of the year and Celebrity of the Year at the GN Bank Awards (People’s Choice Awards).

With innovation key to its programming structure, officials tell enewsgh.com, the Bola-Erskine pair is central to its objective of making the award-winning show the drive of choice in the English-speaking demographic.

With planned surprises on the way, Starr Drive sounds like what you would want to listen to.

Starr FM is owned by EIB Network, of which Bola Ray is co-owner. The group also has in its fold Live FM, Kasapa FM, Empire FM, Ultimate FM, Agoo FM, Cool FM, Hi FM and the Daily Heritage newspaper.
