Bonwire (Ash), Dec. 17, GNA - The annual "Bonwire Kente Fair" is underway at Bonwire, in the Ejisu-Juaben municipality, but exhibitors are already complaining about poor patronage.

They blame this on inadequate publicity by the organizers. Mr Charles Owusu, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), however expressed optimism that the market would pick up.

The 'Fair' is held yearly to showcase the variety of beautifully designed "Kente" cloths and other items to attract tourists to the town, popular for its Kente-weaving industry. On display are bags, clothes, flying tie, strips and hats made with "kente." Mr Owusu conceded that that the high prices of the items was partly to be blamed for the poor sales but was quick to add that, the rising cost o= f the yarn they use, was the cause. The week-long fair ends on Sunday.
