When Antoinette Kudolo started following her grandmother to choir practices of the Gbi-Atabu Roman Catholic Church Choir, little did she know that her association with that choir was laying the foundation for her future career in music.
At the Immaculate Conception Catholic JSS, Kpando, it was not surprising that she became the choir prefect. Her love for singing continued at the Kpando Technical Institute where she undertook a secretarial course.
It was not until 1996 while working as a National Service Personal that it dawned on her that she should sing to the Glory of God.
According to Antoinette, like the biblical Philip telling Nathaniel to come and see ?I saw myself not being able to read and explain the Bible to people but rather telling people about Christ through music.?
The eight track album titled Awoenawo, speaks of the changing scenes of life. The album which she has dedicated to her grandmother opens with Gbedododa a highlify tune done in the Agbadza vein. Antoinette with her backing vocal Sister Love do a harmonious combination fitting as an opener for the album.
Woe Ma Yo (It?s you I will call) also a highlife tune takes track 2 while Va ho Nam (bring it to me) takes the third track while Midzi Ha Kafu Mawu (Sing a song to praise God) takes the last track on Side A.
Made Yesu Afia on the other hand proclaims the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour. Slow-paced, it is danceable and extremely harmonious. The voices greatly enhance the tune.
Yesu Ato Nam, another cool number is followed by Metro Le Mia Fe Dziwo Me (change your way of life), a fast paced highlife tune which aptly ends the compilation. Antoinette has arrived and it is hoped that she will build on her maiden album to get to the very top of her musical career. All songs were written and composed by Antoinette.
The album was programmed and engineered by Ben and recorded and mixed at Crystal Bay Studio, Tema.
