Anyaa market wins cooking competition at market women’s day celebrations

Market women from Anyaa Market were crowned the winners of the Cooking Competition during the just-ended Market Women’s Day Celebrations held on 1st July, 2017.

The Competition, one of the highlights of the Celebrations which took place at the Efua Sutherland Park in Accra, featured twenty markets selected from the more than sixty markets across the Greater Accra Region.

In being declared the overall winners, the women from Anyaa Market were awarded with a 227L double-door refrigerator with a 5-year warranty from Hisense Ghana in addition to a GH?3,000.00 cash prize.

Kaneshie Market were adjudged the runner-ups for the Competition and walked away with a 150L refrigerator and a cash prize of GH?2,000.00.

Timber Market took the third prize of a 130L Table top refrigerator and a GH?1,000.00 cash prize.

This year’s Market Women’s Day Celebrations was the first of its kind in the country and attracted more than one thousand women from more than sixty markets in the Region. Some dignitaries present were the Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mrs. Elizabeth Sackey; Dr. Charles J. Buckman, Dr. Bernard Dumanya-Tetteh of the Stepwise Group as well as Queenmother of Ngleshie Amanfrom, Nana Tambea.

The colourful event was organised by I-Media Advertising. Mucaase Foods Limited, manufacturers of Mucaase Tomato Paste, was the lead sponsor for the event. Other sponsors included Capital and More Microfinance, GCB Bank Limited, Star Microinsurance as well as Third Image Aluminium Limited.
