In Ghana, celebrities do not feel comfortable talking about other wells of their proceeds apart from what they are known for thus acting or singing.
Hiplife artiste Atom who shot to fame with the hit song Yewokrom does not share that view hence his willingness to open up about his other sources of income.
The singer disclosed in an interview with Delay on the Delay Show that apart from drugs and robbery, he is into anything business.
“I am a businessman who is into car selling, laptops etc. I do clean business apart from drugs and robbery.”
Atom who is in his thirties denied that he is not into fraud or anything that has to do with Sakawa; a fraudulent activity by young men who use stolen credit cards to buy goods from overseas.
“I am not a fan of sakawa, I don’t know anyone who is into it, I have never done it before, I don’t intend to engage in it neither do I have dreams of venturing into it,” he answered when the host Delay tried pining him down.
Explaining how the name Atom came about, he said; “it was given to him by friends whilst in school.
“I got it during my Junior high school days and it’s simply because I was skinny.’
Narrating his journey as a musician, Atom revealed that, it was not easy for him especially when it came to his parents.
“When I started, my parents were not in support of it, they said I was going to waste my time but I prevailed and I am here today. The truth is I did everything on my own, I had no help from any one in terms of funding.”
