Outspoken journalist and TV presenter, Nana Aba Anamoah has admonished political commentators to be more creative with their insults and attacks on her, and stop using words like ‘ashawo’ to describe her personality.

Nana Aba Anamoah, speaking on the KSM show said the word "ashawo", to her is an overused insult hence calling her by that, will not gag her in any way.

She bemoaned it is unfortunate that in this day and age, political commentators still feel that calling a woman ‘ashawo’ will silence her.

“Recently the NPP released their attack dogs on me for something I said and I don’t know why in 2019, political commentators still think that calling a woman ‘ashawo’ will gag her in any way, maybe it will gag other women but definitely not me. I mean, ‘ashawo’ is an over-used insult and I expect people to be creative. If you are insulting be creative. Don’t go to ancient times and bring ancient insults…,” Miss Anamoah said.

Nana Aba told KSM, that there has never been a time she had to restrain herself from saying what was on her mind because of the backlash, saying that she has a thick skin.

She reiterated that the NDC and NPP are the bane of this country, and she will never apologize for the comments she made about them. She continued that the NPP and NDC have taken Ghanaians for granted far too long and it was time Ghanaians held them accountable.

“…I stand by what I said about the NPP and NDC, there is no way that I will apologize for the comments I made. I will never take them back. I stand by them. I think the NDC and NPP are the bane of this country, they are the reason we are where we are, we need to be demanding more from them and they are taking us for granted. They are taking us for a ride and I stand by my comments and I will never take them back,” She said.
