General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, John Boadu has taken a swipe at his fellow scribe Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
Addressing the media in Accra Wednesday afternoon, John Boadu said the NDC General Secretary believes he is corrupt enough to be considered being chosen as running mate for the party’s flagbearer for the 2020 general elections.
Johnson Asiedu Nketia in an interview last week, said he will not reject an offer to be former President Mahama’s running mate for next year’s election.
“I would gladly accept the offer if it comes,” General Mosquito told Gifty Andoh Appiah on JoyNews’ ‘The Pulse’.
But reacting to this, the General Secretary of the NPP said Asiedu Nketia “now fancies himself enough to be considered as running mate”.
According to him, Asiedu Nketia who awarded himself contracts whilst he was chairman of the Bui Dam Authority wants to be running mate to “a candidate who one week before leaving office signed off 75% of Ghana’s bauxite to his younger brother’s company."
He added that the NDC does not have the right to accuse President Akufo-Addo of running a family and friends government.
John Boadu was reacting to the NDC’s press conference that the NPP believes sought to taint the integrity of the President and the party in terms of corruption.
Asiedu Nketia who spoke to the press on Tuesday enumerated several alleged corruption cases recorded under this NPP government to buttress their corruption tag against the president.
But John Boadu says Asiedu Nketia has no moral right to speak about corruption-related issues since he is corrupt.
