Actress Lydia Forson is obviously very unhappy about a demolition exercise in Old Fadama that has rendered scores homeless, especially at a time when the capital is under a partial lockdown and the vulnerable are somewhat exposed.

Over 1,000 slum dwellers at Old Fadama in Accra were rendered homeless, and many of them, with their families, forced to sleep in the open Wednesday evening after the Accra Metropolitan Assembly demolished wooden structures to pave way for the dredging of the Korle Lagoon.

Most of the affected residents who spoke to local-based Myjoyonline expressed disappointment about the fact that government didn’t wait till the pandemic was over though same had asked all citizens to stay home to avoid further spread of the Coronavirus.

These residents, having nowhere to lay their heads, settled on sleeping in the open space, with cloths and mattresses, huddled together.

In a post on social media, to express her displeasure at the situation, Miss Forson wrote:

“At this time? At this time? At this delicate time?”
