Old Simpson series, one of the numerous stories left behind by the late Ghanaian filmaker and pioneer Ato Yanney Snr, writer and director of the epic war film His Majesty's Sergeant, is to start airing on Ghanaian television starting with Cine Afrik on the Multi tv Channels.

The Series coming out from the production house he set up by name Flamboyant Damsel Films aka Flamboyant Films, was directed by Ato Yanney Jnr, son of the late movie pioneer.

It features tried and tested actors like Solomon Sampah who plays the role of Old Simpson, Dickson Williams, William Addo, Ricky Adelayitar, Diana Asante, Anthony "Trickish Man" Donkor etc. It also has made room for upcoming actors and actresses like Beatrice Agyemang, Bright Antwi, Prophetess Lydia Anderson etc, who are desperate to stake a claim in the movie industry.

Old Simpson Series, is a hilarious sitcom about an Oxford University graduate, who returns home to his native country (Ghana) from the United Kingdom, to work in the civil service, goes on pension, and is facing the realities of these harsh economic times, thereby resorting to carpentry, specicifically in the coffin making business, to make ends meet. He is helped by his one and only surviving son, Kobby, played by Dickson Williams in their chosen line of trade.

Their workshop is patronised by people from all works of life, ranging from traders, family members, clients etc, who come to discuss issues on social, political, religious etc, enabling viewers to identify themselves with the daily activities that transpire.

Old Simpson series, supported by Special Ice Mineral Water, Charlottefield's International and Flamboyant Damsel Ltd, also comprises of a crew made up of Romeo Kofi Senu (camera/editor), Charles Afful Nyan, Derrick Abeka (sound), Shaban Idrissu, Margaret Sampson (3D art) , Eric Owusu, Mustapha Mohammed Isaac Larbi, Fauzia Mohammed, Matilda Antwi Baffour (PA's).

Watch out for Old Simpson on Cine Afrik, at 5pm on Saturday's.
