Charles Nii Armah Mensah Snr, father of dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has given reasons why the artiste behaves the way he does.
Shatta Wale has come under numerous criticisms for his approach to issues. He has on a number of occasions openly taken on anyone who ‘offended’ him to the extent of heaping insults on the offender.
But speaking on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review show on Thursday, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Snr (Shatta Capo) said Shatta does not react in such manner for fame neither is that part of his lifestyle. According to him, the son goes wild when he is being taken for granted.
“He is not like that. He is a fine gentleman and ladies love him for that. Some artistes get carried away by fame. Shatta is not like that. Sometimes, what we hate in our family is someone looking down on you, say something negative about you. These are some of the things we hate so much in our family. So I don’t cheat anyone. But when you try to… That is not Shatta’s lifestyle; maybe circumstances,” he told host, Akwasi Aboagye.
Shatta Capo was in the studio with interim Public Relations Officer of Shatta Wale, Chris Koney to settle a misunderstanding between Shatta and Akwasi Aboagye which happened on the same platform last Saturday.
Shatta Wale was irked by comments by Akwasi Aboagye that he is inconsistent with his decisions. The artiste has backtracked on his earlier decision not to be part of the annual Ghana Music Awards and its related issues after organisers, Charterhouse hauled him to court over charges of defamation.
