BBC World Service Programme are to be broadcast on FM for the first time in Ghana via satellite from London every day of the week.

An agreement signed by the Multimedia Broadcasting Corporation will allow the local station - Joy FM to broadcast wide range of BBC programme.


A release issued by the BBC World service Press Office, said the deal is a delight one as it would help loyal listerners to BBC World Service to hear their favourite programme in high quality FM stereo


It said this is the first time BBC World Service has reached an agreement with a local broadcasting station and that it would open the way for reaching more agreement with radio stations other West Africa countries.


It said test transmission will begin this month, and that daily programme will focus on music and sports along with African and international news, as well as current affairs including Network African and focus on Africa.

It said the popular weekly African sports programme Fast track can be heard on Mondays, Sports World on Saturday afternoons, and the BBC's first comprehensive business and finance programme, mOney focus ,on Tuesdays


All these programmes, the release said will be broadcast from London and carried it live on FM.


It said among other programmes to be recorded for broadcaster later on joy FM are letter from Americ with veteran broadcaster Alistair Cooke, the weekly film magazine on Screen, the thrice weekly Multitrack with UK top 20 and he best of new and alternative music, and Health Matters which is full of features about health, medicine and fitness
