BECCA’S MANAGER FOR SARKODIE

Becca’s manager, Kiki Banson has named Sarkodie as the most deserving for Artiste of the Year at GMA 2010; even though his artiste, Becca has also been nominated for the same award. He made this pronouncement when Hi Newspaper’s Nenebi Tony paid him a visit at his Tesano resident. Describing Sarkodie as “My man”, he said he was the best artiste for the year under review.

Trying to sound as objective as possible, he refused to be drawn into the argument that Becca stood a chance of winning that award although he was optimistic Becca’s “Daa ke daa” which has been nominated for Highlife Song of the year and Record of the year would pick both awards.

He was also of the view that, Kwabena Akoaboah Jnr, whose single “I do love you”, which would be on air in a fortnight, deserved the Songwriter of the year for his effort on Daa ke daa. Apart from “Daa ke daa”, Kwabena Akoaboah Jnr wrote DSP Kofi Sarpong’s “Ayeyi nwom” which is in contention for Gospel song of the year.

Touching on the issue of conflict of interest raised by Kwaw Kesse in the selection for artiste for the various awards, he said, he (Kwaw) should check his facts before speaking. “I am not a member of the Selection Committee but the Planning Committee. Whiles the selection committee determines who gets nominated for what; the planning committee is concerned with making the show a successful one”, he said.
