Beauty of love: Story of two hearing-impaired lovers married for over 20 years

The origin of love is as old as the universe itself. Over the centuries there has been a series of love stories that have broken various forms of usual life limitations.

The story of a hearing-impaired couple as captured by JoyNews reporter Mahmud Mohammed-Nurudeen shows that indeed “love conquers all.”

48-year-old Quavi Agbemador and 47-year-old Edith Agbemador, both with hearing and speech impairment have been married for over two decades now.

The couple who reside in Oforikrom a suburb of Kumasi are blessed with three children - two boys and a girl.

The two became lovers in their school days and have been together since.

Mr Agbemador has lost his eyesight to glaucoma, but this does not prevent the couple from enjoying their favourite Indian movies with their 21-year-old Godfred Agbemador who is a born sign language interpreter.

This is done through a triangular communication channel with Godfred interpreting the scenes to his mom who also breaks it down for her husband.
