Today I would like to share with you on the topic ‘BEAUTY THAT GOES BEYOND SKIN DEEP’.

Each day, the debate continues about what true beauty really is. Opinions on this topic vary depending on whom you are speaking to. Today the new trend may be natural hair and tomorrow the “IT” thing could be long weaved human hair. Whatever the current trend of beauty is, it is important to remain focused on what really matters, because what really matters is how you feel about who you are.

Beauty isn’t about having a pretty face. It’s about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart and most importantly a beautiful soul. Listening to people’s opinion of what or how your physical appearance should look means you are giving people who should not matter, power over how you feel about what God has created you to be.

You are either as beautiful or as ugly as you believe you are. You define your own beauty. That’s not a power anyone can have over you. When other people treat you poorly because of the way you look, keep being you. Don’t ever let other people’s bitterness change who you are.

Beauty catches the attention but character catches the heart. Do not get sucked into a cycle of looking for approval from others. Beauty is about being comfortable in your own skin and accepting who you are no matter what society’s opinion is. Stop trying to get attention from those who hurt you, stop hating your body, your face, your lips or any other part of you. Without those things, you wouldn’t be you.

There is more to life than the latest beauty craze. In everything you do, make sure you are happy with yourself first and foremost. The people who are unhappy with the way you are today could be the same people praising you in the future. You are already beautiful and perfect in the eyes of the one who made you. No matter what you do, choose to learn to accept who you are and not who society wants you to be.

Your happiness is entirely in your own hands and the more we learn to be comfortable with what God has created us to be, the more we begin to see that the only standard of beauty that we should live by is our own.

Remember, be yourself, because everyone else is taken.
