At a time the world is battling a virus, hoping to get a remedy for the pandemic, some Ghanaian celebrities are trading insults publicly while others level wild allegations against colleagues.
The squabbles between these stars, projected on various social media platforms have triggered reactions from lovers of the arts as they either support their favorite celebrities involved or condemn the act.
There are also suggestions that some of the controversies are staged so personalities involved would uplift or maintain their relevance in the industry.
Below is a list of celebrities engaging in a war of words and why:
Sarkodie and Shatta Wale
The controversial dancehall musician started off the year with direct jabs at the BET Award-winner.
Shatta Wale has, on several occasions, jabbed Sarkodie on social media. He further recorded diss songs with hopes of getting a response from the rapper.
But each time he did, the “Oofeetso” hitmaker either ignored or responded with a cryptic message on his social media.
He recently revealed that he will only respond on one condition - when he is paid!
Sarkodie later released ‘Sub Zero’, a song that saw the rapper throw generic jabs. Shatta Wale, however, slammed Sarkodie, claiming that the song was a direct attack on him. He asserted that it was wrong for Sarkodie to have released a diss song when coronavirus infections and death tolls are increasing.
Unhappy about the remark, Sarkodie tweeted, asking Shatta Wale to “stop being stupid” because he has better things to use his resources for.
Sarkodie and Gasmilla
The controversy between these two first started when Gasmilla, who claims to be the godfather of the azonto movement, fired shots at Sarkodie for starting an agenda to bring back the once-popular music genre.
According to him, azonto never died, hence he doesn’t need any revival as Sarkodie puts it.
There have been instances where Gasmila has claimed to be the “Torchbearer” of 'Azonto' music and not Sarkodie as many people are trying to claim. According to reports, Gasmilla felt offended for not been called to join the #BringBackAzonto campaign.
Azonto has never been dead, the torch has been silently blazing and growing roots.Glad my brothers and sisters finally woke up to the fact that our way to the international world is Azonto cause that's our own.lets go!!! #torchbearer #KingofAzonto #Fahookime#BringBackAzonto?????

But on Friday, April 24, 2020, Akuapem Poloo released a video claiming Sister Afia churned out that particular song because Fella Makafui contracted her to do so.
She also alleged that Sista Afia has been having an affair with Medikal, Fella Makafui's husband.
Perhaps not to be undone, Sista Afia fired back by sharing an accusatory post on her Instagram page on Monday April 27, 2020 with the caption "You have been naked for 3 years on social media and still single, Sis get dressed."
Though the post was not directed to anyone, Rosemond brown responded accordingly with insults and countless accusations.
Funny Face against Lil Win, Bismark the Joke and Kalybos
Funny Face has angrily dragged these three to the gutters.
The actor cum comedian descended on his colleagues; Bismark the Joke, Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin and Kalybos for allegedly spreading falsehood about him.
In a viral video, Funny Face angrily called out the trio and accused them of betraying him.
Among other claims, he alleged that Kalybos once begged his way into sleeping with a girl he [Funny Face] was dating.
According to Funny Face, the decision to open the can of worms was inspired by his instincts.
