Rapper Ayigbe Edem says though he is a Hiplife artiste, nothing stops him as a secular musician from knowing and manifesting the word of God in accordance with his faith as a Christian.
He argued that being a secular musician doesn’t mean he doesn’t know God, MyNewsGh.com reports.
Edem born Denning Edem Hotor lashed out at those who hold the erroneous impression that secular musicians especially Hiplife artistes are not people of God.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi FM in the Ashanti Regional capital, Edem clearly stated that, “sometimes if you are an artiste people think because you are doing secular music you do not know anything about the power of God. But since we’ve become remodel it is right that we use the platform to let people know that, though we are secular artistes yet every greatness at or level we are is by the work of God”. He said.
Last year, the versatile artiste bragged there is no Ghanaian rapper that can sing and no dancehall artiste that can rap like he has been doing.
In an interview on Radio Central, when asked why the ‘Koene’ artiste keeps trying his hands on different genres, he explained that he is not just trying his hands on different genres but rather doing what he’s capable of.
“I’m not trying to move, I’m doing what I’m capable of. Every other artiste who is a rapper and could sing would do likewise but they can’t that is why they don’t do it, and I can that’s why I do it” Edem said.
