Bernard Avle and Obrafour to speak at Role Model Africa

The quarterly Corporate Dialogue, Role Model Africa is scheduled to take place on Sunday 22nd May 2016, to mark its third edition.

Role Model Africa is a mentoring initiative customized for the African youth who want to replicate the success of their business in other African countries and beyond.

The main feature of Role Model Africa is the Corporate Dialogue that engages an African personality whose contributions on the continent are worthy or emulation.

The Corporate Dialogue interacts with African Presidents, Business Owners, Founders of Churches and African Global Companies, International African Leaders, African Policy and Decision Makers, Influential personalities in the Arts, Business Magnates and you name them.

Honoring the platform as guests to be interviewed on the Corporate Dialogue is Director of News at Citi FM, Mr. Bernard Avle and Legendary Award-winning musician Michael Okyere Darko, well known as Obrafour.

Under the theme 'Projecting New Frontiers in Media and Entertainment to Sustain the African Business', the two personalities would help the audience to digest the contributions of media and entertainment to the image of Africa and more importantly highlight on critical developments, new trends in these two establishments that can be courted to bring multiple successes on the continent at large.

The host of the Citi Breakfast Show, Mr. Bernard Avle will share his perspectives on the area of media. Mr. Avle, who was recently adjudged one of Ghana 20 most influential business leaders under 40 by the renowned Business World Magazine, is at the same time the director of News at Citi FM.

Bernard’s appearance on this platform is remarkable as he is by far the youngest contributor to be hosted on the Corporate Dialogue. Expectations can only increase to appreciate the wonderful delivery to be made by the young man whose show was in 2007 adjudged the Interactive/Talk Show of the year by BBC's Africa Radio Awards.

Cumulating 15 years of experience in broadcasting, Bernard will relate how he started off as a volunteer broadcast journalist at the University of Ghana's 'Radio Univers' to his current role at Citi FM, to help audience appreciate the opportunities available for them and the importance of adapting to new trends in business.

Bernard Avle’s role at the FM station records how he oversees a team of young hardworking news professionals produce and cover news for Ghana and by extension, several audiences online.

The Edward R Murrow Fellow of Journalism who is as well a Chevening Scholar will make his appearance on the Corporate Dialogue of Role Model Africa on Sunday 22nd May at the African Regent Hotel in Accra, Ghana.

Well known by his stage name, Obrafour, Mr. Michael Okyere Darko would be speaking on theme marrying his experiences in music and business to throw light on making ones initiatives in the mentioned areas timeless.

The owner of the Execution Records Label who has succeeded in using his platform to unearth several talents in Ghana music scene would address passionate audience at the African Regent Hotel on new ideas that can be leveraged to sustain the entertainment industry in such a way that it can further boost the economies of Africa.

In 1999 the award-winning musician released his first album ‘Pae Mu Ka’. The success of this album was among others highlighted by one of the songs on the list ‘Kwame Nkrumah’, a song which paid resonating remembrance to the Founder and first President of Ghana, encouraging Ghanaians to be united while working for the best for the country.

Some other notable songs include 'Maame', a track which is a toast on Mother’s Day for most Ghanaians and his lead single Nya NteteE PA (Be disciplined) a song which coincided with his effort to join the then Ghana Vice President's initiative to fight indiscipline in the country.

Mr. Bernard Avle and Mr. Michael Okyere Darko will be sharing perspectives on the theme: Projecting New Frontiers in Media and Entertainment to Sustain the African Business.

The convener; Mr. Samuel Agyeman-Prempeh (Co-Founder and Executive Director of Invents) shares that the program is opened to the general public and is set to attract key stakeholders from various parts of Africa. The event which starts at 3pm is expected to observe stated audience 30 minutes ahead of the program.
