Bernice Acheampong, half of the legendary gospel music group, Jane & Bernice has donated several items worth thousands of dollars to hundreds of people who reside at Nyanyano, Koasoa in the Central Region.

The gospel icon who now resides in Columbus, Ohio in the United States of America offered the gifts to the aged, women and children in the vicinity to help improve their standard of living. Bernice Acheampong and her Beechamp Charity Foundation on Thursday, November 16 drove trucks full of goodies to the area to be given to the residents.

The items the foundation gave out during the special event held at the town included bags of rice, bottles of oil, footwear, materials, clothes, drinks, sachets of water and many others. She also traveled to the area with hospital beds which she said would be given to the clinic at Nyanyano because it had only three beds at the time she visited the place.

Bernice Acheampong speaking to the press at the donation said she realised America is a land of many opportunities so she took the chance to solicit for materials to bring back home for the less privileged. The songstress who has held this event for three years continuously stated that "I break down when I see people suffering so it has always been my wish to help the needy anytime I get the opportunity so moving to the USA, I realised this is the time to also help my people back home".

Talking about how she had all the goodies to give out for free, Mrs. Acheampong disclosed that "I released an album this year so I used the proceeds to purchase some of the items. Certain companies and individuals in the States also gave me some for free since it is for charity".

She promised to return to Ghana in August 2018 for another charity event in the Volta Region.

The gospel music group, Jane & Bernice is best remembered for hit songs like "Waka Nea Maye", "Se Nye Yesu Mogya Nua", "I Will Bless You", "Wo Mre Pa Mu", "Mahuoden Wie Peye" and many others.
