The Gordonstoun School of Orchestra from Scotland, which is in the country on an 11- day tour stormed Keta in the Volta at the weekend.
The group held a joint concert and cultural display with the Tegbi Dodovi cultural troup at the Lorneh Lodge at Tegbi on Friday.
The five hour display was full of fun as the visitors thrilled the large crowd that gathered at the Lorneh Lodge and Beach Resort to catch a glimpse of the students who sang two Ghanaian patrotic songs Yen Ara Asaseni and Akpe Akpe by Ephraim Amu, to perfection.
The evening?s programme which began with a short film on the potential of the district followed by a speech by the District Chief Executive, Mr Edward Kofi Ahiabor, and Major Courage Quashigah, (Retd) Minister of Health, set the tone for the evening.
The programme itself got underway with Atsiagbekor and Dunekpoi dance performance by the Dododovi Cultural Troupe and was immediately followed by performances from the school?s pipe and drum band before continuing with a varied programme of music, ranging from full choir to barbershop.
Both groups showed the various talents in their respective domain that Major Quashigah, a musician himself, could not help but joined in displaying his skills in Agbadza and Kinka to the admiration of the traditional leaders and visitors present.
The students on Saturday engaged the townsfolks in sporting activities such as lime-and-spoon race, volley ball, tug- of- war and sack race.
The Manging Director of the Lorneh Lodge and Beach Resort, Mr Dennis Mensah, who hosted the students, described the event as successful and pledged his support for future events.
