Big Brother Africa Wraps Up With the Bigger Picture

For 106 entertaining days in 2003, 12 African housemates from across the continent made international reality television history in the search for a US$ 100 000 prize.

Now BIG BROTHER AFRICA is over, 23-year-old Zambian Cherise Makabale is the winner and fans are asking; what's the bigger picture behind this landmark production?

On Sunday September 28 at 19:00 and 21:55 respectively, DStv audiences can tune in to M-Net to find out when the one-hour special BIG BROTHER AFRICA: THE BIGGER PICTURE is screened.

In it Abby, Alex, Bayo, Bruna, Cherise, Gaetano, Mwisho, Sammi, Stefan, Tapuwa, Warona and Zein go back in front of the cameras.

This time however they're not being observed, instead they're being interviewed on their insights into the show, their opinions about its popularity and their post-BBA fame.

The special also includes footage from the welcome home parties that the final five housemates got after the show's exciting September 7 final.

In addition, look out for footage from a triumphant Cherise's homecoming that included a special presidential welcome and highlights from Abby and Gaetano's tour of Uganda that included a first day welcome by an estimated crowd of 40 000 people who lined the streets of Kampala to greet them.

Plus there's an inside look at Mwisho's hip and happening eviction party in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania while the cameras also caught up with Zimbabwean Tapuwa Mhere and Botswana's Worona Sethwaelo's emotional return to their homes.

Meanwhile Brother Africa host Mark Pilgrim took time out in the days following the show's end to visit some of the countries involved and in the special he reveal his thoughts about the show and the continental response to it.

BIG BROTHER AFRICA - THE BIGGER PICTURE also takes a deeper look back at the headlines that the show generated across the globe, from the controversies about culture to the court cases about constitutional rights.

It's a jam-packed hour and adding to it, Channel O VJ and BBA personality Kabelo gives viewers an inside look at the music that the show showcased and the music that showcased the show!

Yet one of the most interesting parts of the special remains the question and answer session in which the former housemates reveal what they think of each other!
