Big concert hits Accra

OdeimCome Friday March 7, 2008 the British Council hall would present BRING THE NOISE, one of its five regional projects which is part of Africa 2007, a three-year regional programme in East, West and Southern Africa.

The event, scheduled for the La Trade Fair Centre, would bring together musicians, artistes and filmmakers from Africa and UK.



This joint event is part of an Independence Week Celebration, organized by the Ghana Trade Fair Company in collaboration with M-biz Africa. Artistes from eleven countries including Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and the UK will touch on issues of identity, culture and heritage in new pieces of work at Bring The Noise.



The final events for the INDEPENDENCE WEEK CELEBRATION at the Trade Fair are as follows;



Saturday March 1: Pre-independence street carnival


Thursday March 6: Independence All-Stars Concert

Friday March 7: Bring The Noise Concert



The events are part of entertainment programmes for exhibitors and visitors at the ongoing 12th Ghana International Trade Fair which ends on March 9, 2008.



Artistes billed for the 3-day jam include A.B. Crentsil, Sidney, Obour, Tinny, Kwaw Kese, H-Mode, Super Babes, Okyeame Quame, The Bradaz and 5five.



The pre-independence carnival also features finalists of the Appietus Idols Contest on Metro TV, which includes Cameroon’s Kunta Ali, Ethiopia’s Johnny Ragga, Ghana’s OJ, Kenya’s Muthoni Ndonga, Nigeria’s M.I. (Jude Abaga), Senegal’s Keyti, Sierra Leone’s Emmerson, Sudan’s Lisa Shakir, Tanzania’s Paul Ndunguru, Uganda’s Ragga Dee and IG Culture from UK.
