The 13th Edition of the prestigious 3G Media Awards, also known as the "mother of all GH-USA Awards," took place on October 5th, 2024, at the UYC Banquet Hall in Yonkers, New York.

This event continues to build on the excitement of past editions, such as the 9th, which was "lit" with stars. The 13th Edition was equally captivating, outstanding, and entertaining.

The banquet hall was beautifully decorated, and the stage's theatrical effects added to the grandeur of the night. Celebrities and entertainers in attendance included Bill Asamoah, Bright Kankam Boadu, Yaw Agyeman Prempeh aka Oliver Khan The Ship Dealer, Dr. Joyce Akumaa Dongote-Padi aka Akumaa Maame Zimbi, and veteran actress Vivian Achor.

Dignitaries and opening remarks

The ceremony commenced with remarks from key dignitaries. Mr. Tony Opoku, CEO of TCs Energy and Chairman of the Board of Directors for 3G Awards USA, delivered his first official remarks since his appointment as Chairman.

Dr. Charles N. Ntiamoah-Mensah, aka Mr. CNN, the Executive Producer and CEO of 3G, welcomed and thanked the audience. He reflected on the journey of 3G since its infancy and promised new ideas for future editions to make the event a must-attend. Nana Kwaku Duah, CEO of AB African Market & Fabrics, who served as the Chairman of the occasion, officially welcomed everyone and acknowledged Mr. CNN’s contributions to the African community.

Dignitaries in attendance included H.E. Dr. Devon Bannister, CEO of Mac/Ban Arts, and H.E. Professor Adda Okika, Rector of Ruth Sisters Fellowship International. The evening was hosted by Abena Kyei Boakye, a Radio & Television Personality, and Ageorgia, one of New York’s finest MCs.

Awards were presented by H.E. Bannister and H.E. Professor Okika, including the US President’s Volunteer Service - Lifetime Achievement Awards and the Danny Glover Humanitarian Awards presented to recipients such as:

Impact and growth of 3G Media Awards

Since its inception in 2009, the 3G Media Awards have featured a wide array of personalities from industries such as entertainment, tourism, media, public service, politics, and traditional leadership. The awards scheme has received endorsements from key Ghanaian figures, including the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority and the President of the Ghana Journalist Association.

During the 2023 edition, the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Mr. Akwasi Agyemang, was the Keynote Speaker and Honoree, declaring the 3G Media Awards as the best African diasporan awards scheme established by a Ghanaian.

3G Media leadership

The 3G Media Awards team is led by H.E. Rev. Dr. Charles N. Ntiamoah-Mensah, a multi-award-winning media mogul, humanitarian, and advocate for health awareness. His numerous contributions to the media and showbiz industry have earned him recognition, including three US President's Volunteer Service Awards.

Looking ahead

The nomination and invitation process for the 14th Edition of the 3G Awards opens on November 1st, 2024.
