Programmes Coordinator at Accra-based radio station, Mark Okraku Mantey, has admitted knowledge of the alleged “wee” comment made by Presenter cum Musician, Blakk Rasta, but clarified that the allegations were not made on the Presenter’s “Taxi Driver” show but in an interview on an entertainment show on the network.
With an apologetic posture, Okraku Mantey confirmed to Parliament’s Privileges Committee that the story related to Blakk Rasta’s comments were removed from Adomonline, adding that “ I have apologized to MPs of Ghana on Adom FM. I agree that the message was not tasteful and I spoke to him about it”.
Earlier, the Managing of the Daily Searchlight Newspaper, Ken Kuranchie, appeared before the committee to answer questions related to its front page story on the allegation made by Blakk Rasta that about eight per cent of parliamentarians smoke “wee”.
In a tweet late Monday, Blakk Rasta posted on his twitter and Instagram pages an official letter from Parliament summoning him before its Privileges Committee.
Per the letter, dated 22nd June 2015 and signed by Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, Principal Assistant Clerk of the Privileges Committee, Blakk Rasta is to serve as a witness before the committee to assist in investigating the “contemptuous remarks allegedly made” by him on his “Taxi Driver” programme as reported in the Wednesday 17 June 2015 edition of the Daily Searchlight newspaper.
