Highlife musician Lucky Mensah has stated that former Tourism and Creative Arts Minister Catherine Afeku is to blame for the nonperformance of the creative ambassadors.
According to him, the needed resources to champion the cause of the ambassadors were not forthcoming, hence their inability to deliver.
Lucky Mensah said the roles assigned to the ambassadors were not executed due to lack of funds.
Speaking with Nana Romeo on Accra100.5FM on ‘Ayekoo Ayekoo’, Lucky Mensah said his quest to fight against open defecation on the beaches of Cape Coast, Central Region, was not achieved due to the failure of the then-minister to provide him with funds.
He added that Catherine Afeku was sacked by President Akufo-Addo due to her inability to resource the creative arts ambassadors to execute their roles.
“I think the former Tourism and Creative Arts Minister, Catherine Afeku should be blamed for the poor performance of creative ambassadors. She refused to allocate the necessary funds that we needed for our various projects. I even released a song that I thought could stop the people from defecating at the beaches. I thought she could have done better in that regard,” he said.
Lucky Mensah said within the constraints, he could only visit some chiefs around the coastal areas to rally support against open defecation.
Lucky Mensah is currently promoting his new songs ‘Tonight’, ‘Ema wo do nye loose’ and ‘Meda sen’.
