Emmanuel Andrews Samini popularly known in showbiz as SAMINI has blamed the country’s recent power crisis (dumsor) for music lovers lack of interest in his song and his inability to release hit songs that can make it to the music chart shows on radio stations across the country.
The Highgrade family artist at the weekend released a controversial track titled Vextra which made reference to recent social media banter between Prodigal and Shatta Wale as the later intended to play a concert at Nima where VVIP had already announced their concert.
Samini, who for some time now has been quiet in the music industry as far as hits songs are concerned said in an interview with Santrofi Fm in Obuasi that he and his team has tried beyond their means to release hit songs this year but the efforts has proved futile due to the energy crisis that has affected many music lovers in Ghana to have time to listen to radio stations and surf the internet to download his music.
“The energy crisis that Ghana had and I must say we are still having in some parts of the country are the after effects, most fans don’t have the time to download my songs. They hardly even listen to radio since they don’t get constant power to listen to their favorite fm station. It’s just a pity, the few that are fortunate to get power too are engulfed by telenovela and soaps especially that one on Adom TV, Kumkum Bhagya or whatever they call it’. Samini told Santrofi Fm.
“I’m working hard in the studio and together with my high grade family management we will push hard to get hit songs like we used to but the energy crisis, this is the after effect, it is not easy my brother I hope you were in my shoes to know how it feels”. He said.
When asked whether his Vextra song was a diss song to Shatta Wale, Samini declined to comment about it saying “no comment, he who the cap fits should wear it, I recorded that song for my fans and they love it”.
