Veteran Kumawood actor Kwaku Twumasi has condemned the actions of some Ghanaian bloggers, stating that they find pleasure in tarnishing the images of renowned personalities in the country.

He said these bloggers are shifting from their line of work, which is to promote the good works these personalities are contributing to the industry and society, to reporting false information about them.

The actor recounted how a blogger published a video accusing media personality Nana Ama McBrown of snubbing him at an event.

"Let's take a look at social media; some people call themselves bloggers, which is not a bad job. At least they are doing something to help society, but I think they are bent on destroying people because of the little money they will get instead of using the page to promote people's work. They are always promoting bad news every day. It's difficult for me to derive meaning from their actions, but that's how human beings are," he said.

He continued, “An incident happened at a funeral where many of the actors attended, including myself. I met Nana Ama McBrown there, and we had a beautiful conversation and even enjoyed a meal together. When we were leaving the funeral, her car was very close, so I had to bypass her and pick up my car. The next day, it was trending on social media that Nana Ama ignored Mr. Twumasi when they met at a funeral, just to make Nana Ama look bad.”

He advised celebrities to be careful when going about their daily activities in public so they wouldn't fall into the snares of bloggers.

"When you are a star, people are always watching you to fault someone so they can make news about it, so you should be careful when going about your activities in public. You guys are always a target, so you should be careful," he advised.

The actor said this in an interview with Emelia Brobbey on the Okukuseku show.
