Sunyani, Aug. 11, GNA - A 15-year old girl who was allegedly defiled by ace comedian 'Bishop' Bob Okala, known in private life as Samuel Buabeng, on Monday narrated to the Sunyani circuit court how the comedian lured her into his hotel room at Nkoranza and forcibly had sex with her.
Bob Okala, 46, pleaded not guilty to two counts of indecent assault and defilement on his first appearance in court on June 2 this year and was remanded in prison custody.
When the victim failed for the second time to appear in court the court granted bail to the accused in the sum of 150 million cedis with one surety to be justified.
The victim told the court that on October 10 this year at about 6 pm, she was standing under a tree when a concert party group, which had arrived to perform in the town, parked its vehicle nearby.
She said the group entered a drinking bar called "Aben wo ha" and came back after some few minutes and when they saw her, Okala called and asked her to join the vehicle to show them where they could get food to buy.
At the chop bar, the proprietress gave the accused three eggs, which he in turn gave to her to hold and after eating, Okala asked her to join them in the vehicle to Miksap hotel where they were putting up. She said they got to the hotel at about 7 pm and the accused asked her to send the eggs into his room.
The victim said 'Asaase Aban', 'Cocoa Tea' and 'Teacher Atiato', all Okala's colleagues, followed into the room but left almost immediately.
She said as she was about to leave too, Okala closed the door and pushed her on to his bed and in spite of her pleas for mercy, he forcibly had sex with her.
Another colleague, Abusuapanin Judas, came into the room and met her crying but Okala pretended to be asleep so she narrated what had happened after which Judas asked her to go home and come to the hotel the following day for money to buy drugs.
The victim said she went to the hotel the following morning and Judas gave her 20,000 cedis for drugs and asked her not to inform anybody as Okala had left to Accra.
She said she could not immediately inform her parents who had travelled but informed her mother on her return after three weeks to meet her seriously sick.
The victim added that the case was reported to the police at Nkoranza and a medical form was issued for her to attend hospital. The case was adjourned till Wednesday, August 13.
