Empire 102.7 FM, a new radio station in Takoradi in the Western Region which started its test transmission a couple of weeks ago, has caught the attention of a large number of radio listeners in Takoradi and beyond.

The station located on the first floor of Provident House on the Liberation Road in Takoradi, BEATWAVES gathered, is working tirelessly to change the current trend of radio broadcasting in the West with well designed educative programmes, good music and outdoor events.

BEATWAVES learnt that the presence of the station on the airwaves is causing a lot of panic among existing ones because of its style of operation and the kind of music it airs.

Based on Empire Radio’s commitment to change the trend of radio broadcasting in the West, the station’s objective is to give listeners, compelling entertaining content wherever they may be.

“We seek to be relevant in the in the minds of listeners and in so doing be the preferred radio station in the Western Region. Our target audience is within the ages of 18 to 45, have trendy and fashion conscious lifestyle, and are more inclined to entertainment even though they are still conscious of the socioeconomic and political environment,” a source close to the station told BEATWAVES.

The source explained that the reason for which Empire Radio, owned by Joy FM’s Bola Ray, who is also the chief executive officer of Empire Entertainment, was established is to give people in Sekondi-Takoradi and its environs a variety to choose from, as most radio stations were not doing their best to meet the demand of the listeners.

“The station has been equipped with state-of-the-art studio, backed by seasoned radio presenters and disc jockeys. One of our goals is to make listeners recognize it as a viable and sustainable music-oriented station in the region today.

“We think there is a big room for business and we at Empire know how well to do it and will do well to satisfy our cherished listeners. We have taken it as a challenge and we promise to give our listeners the best radio experience,” the source said.

He disclosed that Empire Radio would soon launch a number of exciting programmes and events to entertain its myriad listeners over the coming months.

“We want to differentiate ourselves from a cluttered mass market and give our listeners and clients quality service for their time and money. The station will continue to distinguish itself with well thought-out programming for the delight of its listeners,” the source declared.
