‘Born Starz’ Winner To Get All-Expense-Paid Trip To The Uk

Viasat 1 has announced that the ultimate winner of Born Starz will get an all-expense-paid trip to the United Kingdom for a week! The winner will also perform at ‘Ghana’s Independence Day Party event in the UK, and an opportunity to meet some of UK’s top entertainers including J. Appiah, Producer Vinnie V, PR manager Rickie Davies, and more.

The first and second runner-up also get consolation prizes ranging from LED flat screen TV, water boiler, sandwich maker, and more. They would also get to spend a day with a celebrity for mentoring.

After thrilling weeks of auditions, thirteen (13) contestants are expected to compete at the semi-final level, which will be aired on Viasat 1 on Saturday January 5, 2013.

These 13 semi-finalists would be unveiled on Saturday December 29, after the final audition show. Viewers would then decide which five talented contestants would go through to the finals of the competition.

Each contestant would be identified with a number from 1 to 13; which viewers are to text, prefixed with BS, to short code 1473 across all networks, except Tigo. The finalists will be announced on the show on January 5, 2013.

The grand finale will come off at the Accra International Conference Centre on January 12, 2013. Ben Brako, Paulina Oduro and David Oscar, will take their judging positions while Chris Attoh presents the show.

The red-carpet event, which begins at (7.30pm with doors opening from 5.30pm-7pm), will be preceded by a cocktail for the attendees. Artistes to perform on the night will be the ‘Rap Doctor’ Okyeame Kwame, Atumpan of ‘The Thing’ and more. Also on side attraction will be a curtain raiser performance by a choir.

Born Starz is a Viasat 1 initiative that gives talented amateurs an opportunity to build on their skill and confidence. It is a true celebration of Ghanaian talents as an array of both young and old vie for their chance to strut and perform on stage with the aim to win the grand prize.
