Viasat 1 will begin broadcast of the new talent show Born Starz from this Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 8pm. This will be the first of 13 weeks of the show, with weekly highlights on Wednesdays at 8:30pm.

Born Starz is the first talent show by Viasat 1, aimed at unearthing and developing skills and talents from individuals and groups from all walks of life. With no age restrictions and talent barrier, the show gives the public an equal opportunity to exhibit their unique abilities.

There will be 11 audition shows with one act going through to the next level each week. The 11 finalists will compete in the semi-finals on January 5, 2013; the lucky five will then take the stage on January 12, 2013 for the grand finale.

Born Starz has a strong team made up of Tinsel star Chris Attoh as the presenter, and three judges; entertainment icons Ben Brako, Paulina Oduro and David Oscar. Judge Ben Brako, has already declared Born Starz the “best natural quality talent show so far in Ghana.” He further explained that what makes Born Starz stand out is the fact that it encompasses different kinds of natural talents, which will eventually propel the contestants to a trained, professional level. “I am looking forward to the show!”

So far, five contestants made up of a comedian, a guitarist, two dancers and a singer, have qualified for the competition. The first batch of auditions was held on Saturday September 15, 2012 and is set to continue every Saturday until the final audition day, December 8, 2012.

Free audition form are still available at the Koala Shopping Mall in Osu, the front desks of Viasat 1 and Modern African Productions in Labone, and NAFTI in Cantonments. Interested participants can also download the soft copy online at www.viasat1.com.gh.

The introduction of Born Starz is another step by Viasat 1 to invest in the channel, and to urge viewers to identify with the Viasat 1 brand as their own. Make a date every Saturday at 8pm for the show and Wednesdays at 8:30pm for the highlights.
